Research Interests

  • Mountain hydrology
  • Snow hydrology
  • Remote sensing of snow
  • Spatial variability of snow
  • Numerical modeling
  • Data assimilation
  • Streamflow forecasting (hydropower & water supply)
  • Climate-vegetation-hydrology interactions
  • Hydrologic disturbance and change
  • Rain-on-snow floods

Current Research

The role of snowpack processes in the hydrological cycle and how remote sensing, physics-based snow models, and experimental field techniques can best be integrated to improve understanding and prediction of hydrology in snow-influenced watersheds.
