Sherm Bloomer assumed the leadership of the College of Science in 2000. A respected geologist with 22 years of teaching undergraduate and graduate students, he holds a B.S. in Geology from Rice University and a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of California at San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
