Exploration of cold seepage at convergent and transform margins; gas hydrate dynamics; role of fluid flow and associated fluid/rock reactions on fault zone stability and seismogenesis; the transfer of elements and isotopes to the oceans, volcanic arc, and mantle; and the composition and biogeochemical impact of the deep biosphere.
