Specialty

I am the director of the geographic information science (GIScience) certificate program at Oregon State University. Every year, I advise 200+ certificate students from recruitment and admission, selection of courses and careers, review and approval of academic plans to graduation. As I mentor and advise, I enjoy diving into deeper conversations on how to be successful in the geospatial field, not only in academia, but also in private sector groups, non-profits, and local, state and federal governmental agencies. In addition, I teach both upper-division undergraduate and graduate level courses in GIScience.

Education

B.S. Computer Science, California Polytechnic State University, 1993
M.S. Marine Resource Management, Oregon State University, 2002

Courses

GEOG 560 - GIScience I: Introduction to Geographic Information Science (Ecampus)
GEOG 561 - GIScience II: Analysis and Applications (Ecampus)
