Specialty
Heavy stable isotope geochemistry; geochemical tracer development; transport, transformations and environmental fate of metals/metalloids
Research Interests
My research examines human metal emissions, which often exceed natural sources, and their impacts on biogeochemical cycles. I use geochemical tools to identify contaminant sources and distributions at global to local scales in environmental samples such as ice, sediments, soil, and moss. My projects span relatively pristine and anthropogenically impacted systems, with fieldwork in Greenland, Alaska, Spain, and urban centers such as Portland, Oregon. Ultimately, my research seeks to inform environmental monitoring and remediation efforts while advancing our understanding of natural and disturbed biogeochemical cycles.
