    The RACS team is here to help support the CEOAS college owned desktop and laptop computers. For college owned desktop/laptop support we are very flexible and help on anything that isn't extremely specialized. This includes quoting and purchasing, OS installation and initial configuration, software installation assistance, hardware diagnosis (and repair, depending). There's an assumed basic level of self-sufficiency expected where users can install most software on their own with instructions instead of needing the RACS group for every administrative action, but if you are having issues please contact the RACS group using the support link.
     
  • The main limitation the RACS group has for supporting Desktop/Laptop machines by far is lab specific research software. These limits come from the knowledge and time commitment to understand and configure each software package in the appropriate matter and to that end the RACS group will help on a best-effort and time-permitting basis and ensure labs are enabled to operate and manage their own lab specific software stacks.
