ArcGIS Pro Installation on a Personal Computer Steps:

  • Obtain the ArcGIS Pro software from the OSU campus Software Server.
     
  • From off campus, an OSU VPN* connection will need to be established first. For detailed instructions on establishing a VPN connection to the campus network go to the OSU VPN page.
    • *You must be a currently enrolled student, faculty or staff member to access the software server
       
  • From on the campus wired or wireless network, or with an established VPN connection, open a Windows File Explorer window.
     
  • In the address bar of the file explorer window type: \\software.oregonstate.edu\software\ArcGIS\ArcGIS_Pro\3.3

  • If asked for credentials, put in "onid\<yourONID username>" for your username and then your ONID password for the password.
     
  • Then download the latest Arcgis Pro Installer.exe (2024-2025 - ArcGIS_Pro_33_190016.exe) file to your computer. (MUST be downloaded, not run from server!)
     
  • Also download any .msp patch files: (Currently ArcGIS_Pro_331_190126.msp) to be on the same version as the CEOAS computer labs.
  • Both the Installer and patch files MUST be downloaded to your local computer.  Do not try to run them from the software server.
     
  • Should you experience any difficulty with the installation process or are unable to open the ArcGIS folder, please contact the IS Service Desk at 541-737-8787.
     
  • Install ArcGIS Pro by right clicking the downloaded .exe file and choose to “Run as Administrator”. Follow the installer instructions and complete the install process.
     
  • Once ArcGIS Pro is installed, you can update to the future patches by clicking on the downloaded.msp file to run the patch installer.
