What/who helped you to be successful at OSU?
All of my amazing professors, learning assistants, graduate students, and classmates who have built up a wonderful community that encouraged me to be successful, held me accountable, and created a welcoming environment.
What sparked your interest in the Earth Sciences?
I've always been interested in grand scale geologic processes and more specifically, natural hazards such as earthquakes, landslides, and volcanism. I was encouraged to immerse myself in science by all of my teachers at Springwater Environmental Science School, my high school geology teacher Christopher Hedeen, and Dr. Ben Stanley of OSU.
What advice would you offer incoming CEOAS students?
CEOAS is very interconnected and I encourage you to take classes from a wide variety of subjects within many disciplines. They'll all fit within your degree somewhere, there's no harm in searching for something you like.
