Sample Material
Sample compounds are isolated from bulk sample materials, such as biological tissues, soils, or sediments, using multi-step preparative procedures prior to analysis. Non-volatile organic compounds such as amino acids must be derivatized by silylation, alkylation, acylation, esterification or other methods in order to make them suitable for gas chromatography.
Method
Compound specific Analysis should be considered cutting edge isotope work. Standard techniques have not been universally accepted but are in the forefront of current research. OSSIC provides a close collaboration opportunity for method development. Our lab has a Thermo GC-C-IRMS systems composed of a Trace GC 1310 gas chromatograph coupled to either a Delta V IRMS through a GC IsoLink.
