About

Welcome

The Oregon State Stable Isotope Collaboratory (OSSIC), is located in the College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science (CEOAS) at Oregon State University.

The laboratory was founded in 1986 by director Dr. Alan Mix with a single Finnegan/MAT251 mass spectrometer. Today the laboratory operates six gas-source isotope ratio mass spectrometers connected to a variety of peripherals (i.e., two Kiel-IV carbonate prep. devices, a GasBench, a Water Equilibration system, a Flash EA/TCEA, a GCC forCompound Specific Isotopes, a multiport  tube cracker for gases and a Picarro CRDSfor water isotopes. We analyze natural abundances of C, N, O and H isotopes in a variety of environmental, geological and biological sample types.

For information about analyzing samples please contact William Rugh (rughw@oregonstate.edu)
