This symposium will delve into the pivotal role of critical minerals in the transition to a greener economy, examining the challenges and opportunities of achieving carbon-neutrality through resource expansion.

Discover how OSU is positioned to lead the way in understanding the geological origin of critical minerals and how they will contribute to the green energy transition while allowing us to serve as good stewards of our natural resources and environment. Engage with experts to learn about how we can create responsible critical mineral resource streams to sustain our ecosystems and ensure the well-being of communities. Students will also have the opportunity to network with alumni and industry partners to explore career possibilities. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights and contribute to the future of critical minerals and sustainable energy!

This symposium will be held in conjunction with the annual Thomas Condon and George Moore Lectures, with special guest speakers: Elizabeth Holley, exploration and mining geologist and associate professor in the Mining Engineering department at Colorado School of Mines, and Tom Benson, Lithium Americas, vice president of global exploration.
