Join us in celebrating the professional contributions and recent retirement of Professor Andrew Meigs at the legendary home of OSU’s introductory field camp, the White Mountain Research Center (WMRC) in Bishop, California.
For twenty years, OSU geology alums have made the annual pilgrimage to the WMRC for their memorable GEO 295—Introduction to Field Geology course, established and taught by Andrew Meigs.
Whether this is your first exploration of WMRC or a nostalgic return to your field camp days, we hope you will join us for this extraordinary celebration!

Gather at White Mountain Research Center for a Symposium celebrating Andrew’s career.
Tuesday, September 23, 2025, 9 a.m. onward: An optional field day at the Poleta Folds
Break out your map board and enjoy a(nother) day with Andrew at the infamous “little” Poleta Folds mapping area.
