The blue economy encompasses all economic activities related to the sustainable use and study of ocean resources. Led by oceanography professor Byron Crump, CEOAS is helping to develop the workforce necessary to sustain and grow this critical set of industries.
This initiative was launched in spring 2026 with a workshop held at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, OR.
