Igneous Petrology, Geochemistry, Volcanology
I am primarily interested in the genesis of intermediate-felsic igneous systems, their duration in the crust, storage conditions, and eruption triggers. In the past I have looked at large, caldera forming eruptions in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field, the formation of rhyolite in the upper crust, and connections between geochemically similar plutonic and volcanic rocks. To study these topics I primarily use trace element chemistry and quantitative textural analyses.
