Chasing Superwaves

Researchers with the NSF-funded Tasman Tidal Dissipation Experiment (T-TIDE) and T-Beam experiments will be chasing an elusive giant—Superwaves, or internal waves that propagate thousands of feet below the ocean surface. While we can't see them with the human eye, these waves can be taller than a skyscraper and have broad impacts on ocean circulation and even our climate. Watch as researchers prepare R/V Revelle to spy on the underwater superwaves of the Tasman Sea.
