Now is the time for Safety

CEOAS is now offering a basic workplace First Aid/CPR course through the OSU Diving and Small Boat Safety Office.    This class meets OSHA workplace safety and United States Coast Guard requirements for first aid training, and also meets the first aid requirements for the OSU scientific diving and small boat programs. Costs for the class will be paid by the college. The course will cover adult, single-rescuer, CPR, First Aid, and AED administration.

Instructor: Kevin Buch, OSU Diving and Small Boat Safety Officer
Date: 4 October 2017
Time: 2-5:30 PM
Location: Burt 193
Notes: this is a 'hands-on' course so wear clothing appropriate for bending and kneeling

The intended audience for this course includes CEOAS floor monitors, divers, boaters, and faculty and student leaders of field expeditions.

CEOAS plans to offer this course on a quarterly basis through the academic year. Each class will be offered to up to 10 students.  For the initial offering, CEOAS floor monitors will be given preference, but others are welcome to sign up space permitting. An additional class could be arranged if there is an excess of students.

To sign up, please respond to Michael Harte by 29 September.
