Climate Change Impacts on Human Health

You are invited to participate in the Joint CEOAS and CPHHS Ignite Colloquia:  Climate Change Impacts on Human Health. Topics are broad and intended to cover the intersection of climate change science (including earth and oceanic processes) and human health, from local to global scales, as well as social and political processes

Wednesday, April 5, 2017
Ignite presentations:  3:30 pm – 5 pm
Reception:  5 pm – 6 pm
Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families – Room #115

Enjoy an informal session socializing with colleagues from both colleges in the beautiful Hallie E. Ford Center!  Faculty will be given two minutes each (2 PowerPoint slides) to speak about his/her research passions and expertise to spark interdisciplinary conversations. The concise, rapid-fire presentations are designed to “ignite” the audience with research ideas, stimulate thought, and promote collaborations.  All faculty, both new and not-so-new, are welcome to participate and enjoy the catered wine-beer reception to follow.

Please RSVP  by March 17th.  Be prepared to provide either the “Title of your brief presentation” or “focus of your expertise.”

Following the Ignite Colloquia, the Colleges may jointly release an RFP providing seed funding for interdisciplinary research on topics related to Climate Change Impacts on Human Health. Thanks for your prompt response.  We look forward to seeing you at  the Ignite event and learning about your research.

Fernanda Casas, Marika Stock, and Ema Armstrong doing "volunteer" yard work to raise money for the GeoClub tip to New Zealand. To date the club has raised approximately $4,000 through volunteer opportunities such as moving bark chips at Larry and Laurie Becker's house. The club leaves March 18 and members are really excited!

And…It's not too late to contribute to the trip — make your donation on the CEOAS website (click on "Make a Gift") or write a check out to the OSU Foundation. Specify CEOAS Geoclub Fieldtrip fund (fund # 692500) and give to Angela Dammen in CEOAS Admin 203.
