On behalf of VP for Research, Cindy Sagers, you are invited to the 2017 Research Office New Faculty Orientation on Thursday, November 2nd, from 2 – 5 pm in the Memorial Union Horizon Room. The event will acquaint you with the University Research Office and how we can help you find funding, submit proposals, manage your awards, and move your research outcomes into commercial space.

2:30-3:30: From the trenches – observations and advice from former program officers returned from federal service
3:30-3:45: Break with the RO and panelists- refreshments provided
3:45-5:00: Research Office Speed Dating – Meet with key staff who provide research services and programs that are essential to your success. Speed round topics are below and are available for self-selection at the event. 10 min staff overview, 5 min Q&A, then switch to another table of your choice.

Lindsay Aylesworth at HMSC

Lindsay Aylesworth, Marine Reserves Research Project Leader, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will be speaking at HMSC on October 19. “Evaluating Oregon’s Marine Reserves”

AGU Filmmaking Workshop: Before You Go

Before You Go is a one-day intensive filmmaking workshop. You will learn basic film and audio recording techniques to get good-quality footage of your filed expedition, laboratory experiment, educational project, or other film project. 10-16 December 2017, New Orleans (week of the 2017 AGU Fall Meeting)offered in collaboration with ScienceMedia NL.
