New Research Vessel Experience Enrichment Endowed Fund

We are pleased to announce the creation of the CEOAS Niels A. Skov Research Vessel Experience Enrichment Fund created by Diane Skov in memory and honor of her late husband Niels A. Skov. Niels A. Skov (OSU Master’s 1965, PhD 1967, Oceanography) lived a truly extraordinary life including as a Danish resistance fighter during WW-II (obituary from Evergreen State College). According to Diane, Niels knew the great value, and also great expense, of having students and scientists aboard research vessels at sea. This fund is intended to help with the costs of enrichment activities such as post-cruise dinners that are not normally covered by funding agencies. We thank Diane Skov for this wonderful support of seagoing science! Others who wish to support the fund may make a gift to the OSU Foundation noting it is for the CEOAS Niels A. Skov Research Vessel Experience Enrichment Fund.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

CEOAS Community -
To further our college’s healthy, inclusive, and safe environment, I want to ask every CEOAS employee and graduate student to take sexual harassment prevention training.  If you have completed an OSU training within the past 3 years, you do not need to do this again.
I have asked professional staff from Equal Opportunity and Access to conduct the training. We are doing this now so that as many of us head to the field or to other locations away from campus, we can help to ensure that the environments in which we work are productive and safe for all staff and students.
We have added one last training session for this term which is scheduled for June 28, 2016 from 11:00-12:00.  You only need to take one.
The training is scheduled for Burt 193.  There is room for 40 participants to join this training, we would appreciate it if you sign up for the training here: http://doodle.com/poll/6ns5fg7dn2uhfggn
