REU Students Are Here

This week starts the ninth year of the summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates program in CEOAS. This program matches undergraduate students from colleges and universities around the country with CEOAS faculty in an intensive 10 week research internship. This program is funded through NSF- Ocean Sciences and provides students with a stipend, travel, and on-campus housing during their internship. The summer program also includes weekly research seminars and career mentoring, research ethics training, and field trips to the coast (Hatfield Marine Science Center) and  Cascades (H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest). Students will present their research in a symposium on August 19 (9 to 1 in Wilkinson 203) and all are welcome to attend. Fiscal Year End

Year End Close is fast approaching. Please review the following items to ensure timely submission:

  1. Labor – corrections to FY ’15 labor through June 2015 must be made no later than Wednesday, June 24th. Email grants to request labor corrections/changes. 
  2. Grants Report –review monthly grant report on GRRS for errors. Email grants for corrections. All corrections for invoices and labor are limited to the past 90 days. FY ’15 corrections to invoices must be made by Tuesday, June 30th.

  3. Red Slips – stop by the accounting office timely to sign outstanding invoices and PAR forms.
  4. Grants Ending – no cost extension requests should be completed no later than 60 days prior to the end date of your award. Complete the “OPAS” form and return to grants for processing. OPAS form
  5. Equipment - equipment has to be physically received by Tuesday, June 30, 2015 to be included in June business. Please notify grants if there will be installments/prepayments on equipment and the equipment will not be received prior to June 30, 2015
  6. Travel and Personal Reimbursements – please submit all outstanding travel and personal reimbursements to Taewon Kim as soon as possible.  All FY’15 reimbursements must be received by Tuesday, July 7th.
