The Atlas of Infectious Diseases, an interactive atlas for the iPad created by undergraduate and graduate students in the Spring 2014 Computer-Assisted Cartography course, is the recipient of the prestigious 2014 British Cartographic Society and National Geographic Society New Mapmaker Award. The course is taught by Dr. Bernhard Jenny. The atlas can be downloaded for free from the OSU Cartography and Geovisualization Group's website.
The Conservation and Science Program at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation has posted announcements for two positions: a) Deputy Director for Oceans; and b) Program Officer for Science. (Draft announcements on the bulletin board outside Burt 178)
Both of these positions would give the right person an outstanding opportunity to contribute to progress towards conservation goals while working with a terrific team at the Foundation and with partners.
