Field Education — Field Geology Courses for Undergraduates


GEO 295 - Introduction to Field Geology (3 credits, 2 weeks)

Location and Facilities: Owens Valley near Bishop in Eastern California

Accommodations: Owens Valley Station, White Mountain Research Center, 3000 E. Line Street, Bishop, CA 93514

Dates of Camp: Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 25, 2015

Course Prerequisites: OSU GEO 201 (Physical Geology) and OSU GEO 202 (Earth Systems Science)

Transportation: OSU Motor Pool Van. No private vehicles.

Gear: Field geology gear, sleeping bag and boots required (complete supply list). Fee covers some supplies.

Cost: Program Fee = $800 plus fall tuition

OSU 2015 Field Camp (Geo 495)

We are not accepting applications from non-OSU students.

GEO 495 - Advanced Field Geology (6 credits, 4 weeks)

Location, Facilities and Rules: Mitchell, Wheeler County, Central Oregon

Dates of Camp: Monday, June 15 to Saturday, July 11

Course Prerequisites:

Transportation: OSU Motor Pool Vans

Lodging: Mitchell Field Station, Mitchell, Oregon

Food: Meals are provided

Gear: Field geology gear, sleeping bag and boots required. Fee covers some supplies.

Cost: $800 course fee plus tuition

Application and $100 Deposit Deadline: March 2, 2015
